We met as teenagers, years ago now,
Talking came easy, don’t ask us how.
It felt familiar right from the start,
Like something steady, simple, and smart.
We drifted apart, then back again,
Till Jordan said “Camping?”, a bold move then.
Avril said “No, are you feeling alri?”
So coffee it was, in broad daylight.
That “quick coffee” lasted most of the day,
A kiss crept in and gave us away.
By that evening it all made sense,
This felt like more than a coincidence.
A few months later, no point in pretending,
This wasn’t a fling, it was clearly extending.
“I love you” landed, easy and slow,
So March 8th stuck and we’ve kept it so.
Jordan keeps calm, Avril keeps pace,
Somehow together it all finds its place.
When days go sideways and nerves are spun,
Avril gives out briefly, all part of the fun.
Jordan shows love with tea on demand,
And making the bed (against his plans).
He does the small things, no sighs, no moans,
Even when Avril’s on quality control.
Avril plans everything start to end,
Lists on lists just around the bend.
So Jordan can rock up, pint in hand,
Delighted with life, none the wiser…grand.
Jordan admires Avril’s drive and head,
How things just work the way she said.
Avril loves Jordan’s easy grace,
And jokes that land at exactly the right place.
Our favourite moments are simple and sound,
Walks with Dexter tearing up ground.
Pints in the mountains, road trips galore,
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and more 🍻
Rows don’t last, sure we cop on fast,
They end in a laugh and the moment’s past.
Through thick, thin, and pure head wrecking shite,
Still laughing together, deadly, right?
Keys in the door, look at us now,
Actual adults, we don’t know how.
Home feels safe, no dread in sight,
Just comfort, chaos, and dog hair at night.
Dexter steals runners, underwear too,
Leaving them out for the neighbours to view.
No shame, no thoughts, just vibes and zoomies,
Running the house like a feral roomie.
We’ll throw on a show with a cupán tae,
One episode in and the night slips away.
The slagging is fierce but always in fun,
Avril gets angy, Jordan’s already won.
At the heart of it all is kindness and care,
Patience, forgiveness, and pulling our share.
We choose each other in all that we do,
Day after day, still solid, still true.
So here we are, glasses raised high,
Same love, same laughs, same slagging till we die.
Nothing’s changed, just paperwork done,
Still wrecking each other’s heads and calling it fun.
